The principle of operation of the level gauges is based on the frequency method of distance measurements using a frequency-modulated continuous wave radar (FMCW). The radar sends a high-frequency signal, the frequency of which increases linearly. The emitted signal is reflected from the surface of the measured medium and is received by the antenna as an echo signal with a changed frequency. In the electronic module of the level sensor, the difference between the frequencies of the reflected and emitted signals at the current time is determined, which is directly proportional to the distance to the surface of the measured medium.
The level gauges consist of an electronic module, a radar and an antenna located in the body of the level gauge, a connecting fitting or a flange. The electronic module can be equipped with a digital indicator.
The level gauges are manufactured in general industrial or explosion-proof (explosion-proof shell [Ex d] and/or intrinsically safe circuit [Ex ia]) versions, in two series that differ in operating frequency:
6x – operating frequency 26 GHz;
8x – operating frequency 76-81 GHz.
The 6x series includes models GQ Radar 61, GQ Radar 62, GQ Radar 63, GQ Radar 64, GQ Radar 65, GQ Radar 66, GQ Radar 67, 8x series – models GQ Radar 80, GQ Radar 80S, GQ Radar 81, GQ Radar 81S, which differ from each other in the measuring range and limits of permissible error.
The equipment is adapted for operation at ambient temperatures from -60 °C to + 60 °C, meets the requirements of GOST standards and has certificates:
